headed out at 5:30pm after a long day of power washing the decks....nice tank of big ales I caught the evening before. That SBT2 is worth every penny. I couple of frozen bottles during the day and a filter cleansing and they were healthy as can be.
Fished around the 3 islands in a few warm water spots ( water at 83.5)...humps and holes...marked a few singles, double and triples but nobody was biting. Did the same at the S curves and another summertime spot with no luck. Headed upriver a bit and put out at the mouth of one of my favorite creeks. Just as dusk was settling in I ran over a nice big school...First flatline got hit hard. I grabbed it and knew it was a nice fish...second flatline bent down hard...knew I had to fight the first fish in...then the opposite downrod got slammed...second flatline goes down hard then pops back up....Holy cow! I got the first fish in...nice fish. I didn't weigh or measure but I know she was at least 10#. Got her back safe and sound fast and grabbed the other flat. Horsed her in fast and released her. Smaller but still a nice fish. Got the 3rd fish in quick and got her back in the water. She was one of the football fish...looked more like a little tuna then a striper.
I did my best to get my baits back in the water but between the worsening darkness, my worsening vision and my incessantly shaky hands I think I fouled hooked all the baits. Didn't find the school again and idled home by 8:45.
Fishing alone can be peaceful and relaxing...but it can also get your heart rate up to 140 pretty quick. What a blast!!

Nothing better than absolute chaos when you are by yourself....
