Went out to scout for bait the night before and nav lights were crapping out. Bait wasnt on the light in my cove so woke up early and caught a few small alewives. Headed to the s-curve and had 2 boards out. One gets hit 24-26", as soon as i got that one in caught a dink. Short time goes by and land a nice 3.5lb smallmouth. Finished the day around 9 o'clock with a nice 32" fish. Will post vid of the bigger one soon. Going to try the lower teens of the roanoke later today.

Where you marking many fish in the S curves? I am heading down today and we stay in the cove across from the curves.

Vabuckhunter the fishfinder on the rental boat is a piece of crap was fishing blind I'm surprised it even works it there is one Reminds me of my 1st trip to SML early July 2009.... we had a rental pontoon... went out one day with Dale Wilson and learned about tossing/jigging fluke. Stopped in at the Virginia Outdoorsman that afternoon to pickup some flukes & jig-heads and then went out the next morning with just my son and I to the State Park S-curves - really had no idea what we were doing and had no electronics (maybe something that told us depth...) but we hooked up with a few. Of all the fish I've caught on SML since, or been a part of being caught - this may be my favorite one... Matt's 1st solo striper!
