Got in a few hours on the lake before the lightening storm hit...catching bait in the middle of the day is really tough for me. I don't have a bow transducer so I'm throwing at everything behind me....without a lot of success. I finally caught 300,000 small alewives ...259, 850 were gilled in the net. What a mess. But enough to fish for 3 hours. I focused on MCP's , all light lines and flats...no downlines. Caught 2 fish, biggest at 28". She absolutely buried a shoreline planer. I'm still new at that and it's a total rush to see. As I was coming in there was an older lady in a little kayak in the main channel. She waved me over and said her daughters kayak had come loose and was up in a dock across the way. She pointed at it in the distance and I said she should turn around...I would go get it. Climbed up on the dock, untied it and wrestled it into my boat....drove it over to where she was and dropped it off. The first wave of storm was overhead so I stayed on her floater for a spell. She was very thankful. She came back down to the dock 20 minutes later and said that wasn't her kayak. Oops! So I waited out the storm, put the damn thing back in my boat and snuck back over to the dock where I stole it. Lucky I didn't get shot both times. Paying it forward can be risky business. If anyone on the board was wondering who was the SOB stealing kayaks in Gills Creek....it was me. BTW - I saw her kayak on a dock 100 yards away as I was headed home. I kept going.

That creek that you turned me on to for gizzards has produced really well for me in the daytime hours. The ramp on the left at the back and the wall before it are usually loaded with nice bait.
You are a good man Lund1. I wouldn't worry about it though....they were only kayaks!!! LOL

As I was reading that about you "untying the kayak" I was thinking, that lady has you working as her accomplice.... then really laughed when I read the "rest of the story"..... Glad you avoided the lighting.....

That is one of the better stories I have read in ages. Well done Lund1!
PS You know it's good if my wife is reading fishbook and laughing hysterically.
