Fished artificial lures again today. Air temp. around 63 to 86. I forgot to look at the water temp, sorry. Guessing it was around 76 or so. A bud and I fished from 8:00 am until 12:30. Marked a few fish here and there, with no takers until 11:00. We hooked up and I had to wrestle the rod from the holder, it felt like a good fish. I handed the rod to my buddy and he played the fish. Every time he gained some line it pulled it back out. It made several hard runs before it came unbutton. He was disappointed of course. So we fished on and found a few scattered marks. Another hook up and he played it to the boat. The fish looked to be maybe 27-28 inches. But we will never know because when the net touched the fish it went nuts and came off. Lure hanging in the net and fish gone. My bad! We hooked up again a little later and I took this one. It was a nice fish at 34 inches. I got several good runs before boating it. There is nothing like that bait clicker buzzing. Music to my the ears. I released it in good shape. Just with a sore mouth. I made a couple of pictures, but I can't get them to load. I am just not very computer educated.

drag4striper - Nice report - its amazing how a shake of the head and the fish is gone......
What type of lures are you running? Using downriggers or lead-core, or just whatever they are diving to?
You probably can't do direct attachements to the forum at the moment.... we are out of file space that is provided with the free forum. Check the threads in the Welcome section about how to use Photobucket to upload your pics and link them to the forum...

Thanks Mike, It amazes me how the fish can throw hooks.
I like trolling homemade a-rigs, buck tails/sassy shad, spoons and red fins on inline planers ,trolling sinkers and lead core.
I need to research the welcome section. Thank you
