Does anyone here use ell lures? If so, which kind do you like? What size?

What a great question. I have an ell lure in my tackle box, but I have not used it. Salt water stripers love ells. It seems like it should be genetically coded into their DNA to eat ells. So ell lures should be a sure thing. Has anyone tried them?

How fast do you have to pull them to get the right action? I'm guessing they are a "big motor" trolling item....

I am wondering if you should not troll them with a down rigger about fifteen feet down. If you used the motor you could cover some lake while looking for the schools and still be fishing while you were doing the looking.

I've been reading about trolling and bottom bumping artificial eels in the bay and ocean. When I looked them up there were about 1,000 different kinds. Some look just like the real thing. Attachments:
