I caught them Wednesday night 5/27 pretty good. The shad came up late and the bite lasted for about 3 hours or so. Didn't catch any giants but had fun. Biggest fish of the night was just short of 30 inches.

My three friends and I fished topwater at the main lake points at the state park and S-Curves from the 16th until the 23rd. Our normally reliable topwater lures (Thundersticks, Redfins, Smackjacks, etc.) were not productive. We had almost all of our luck with sub-surface lures like the F-18 Vampire, shallow running Giz4 in pearl green and blue Bomber Long-A. The stripers and ales were active between 11:00 and 2 and then would shut off like they had an alarm clock.

I fished from bull run up to gills creek. Any rip rap bank or shallow flat should be good.
