Put in about 6:00 PM. Wanted to see if we could find the stripers coming up in early evening.
Started fishing near Tri-County Marina. Shad came up about 7:00 PM. Not real thick, but enough to hopefully have a few Stripers interested in them.
Stripers did not come up anywhere from Tri-County back to ramp. Lake was on the rise when we got there, so I wasn't overly hopefull at doing much. Lake rose about 2 feet, and put alot of trash in the lake. Was hard to even reel in our lures because of it. Never have done real well when the lake is on the rise, so I'd just prefer to go home when it happens. Fishing the high water, and trash is pretty much a waste of time.
All total we caught 5 small Walleye, 3 small White Bass, and 2 or 3 brim. It's amazing how those little fish will hit a big crankbait like they do. All the fish we did catch came from small little "pockets" and "cuts" on the main channel.
Water got really trashy by 9:00 PM so we called it a night.
Alas, there will be better nights ahead, I hope!!
