Finally got out for my first night trip of the year last night. And boy am I glad I did! Weather was perfect with little to no wind. Started in Becky's creek around 9:30 and the shad were just starting to come up good. Threw a bladed jig around docks with shad activity. Caught 4 in Becky's. Moved to Betty's and the shad were really up good. Picked up a wake bait and had a blast! Caught 6 off one stretch of riprap. Two of the six were over 4 pounds. Started working my way back down lake hitting some main lake stuff hoping for a striper but the stripers wouldn't cooperate. Picked up a few more bass along the way. At this point it's after 2 am and I had been up since 5 am the previous morning and I am wore out! So I head in to penhook and I decide to try one more spot. From 2:30 to 3:30 I caught five more on one stretch. The biggest was just over 6 pounds! Decided to leave them biting because I was looking at an hour drive and pushing being up for 24 hours. This ended up being one of my best bass fishing trips ever! I caught good numbers of fish with excellent size. My best five easily weighed well over 20 pounds. I can't wait to get back. Hopefully I can go again before the end of the week. Doubt I will top this trip but it will sure be fun trying!!
