anyone know a good spot near the hardy ramp area...will be in a boat so should I target points or run up in the creek more or target deeper areas?...thanks for any help...lee

Hey Skiff, haven't done it in years, but guys used to leave that ramp and go past the marina and past that shoal on the left then anchor up just at the end of that shoal. Used to see them anchored up there a lot years ago.

Skiff, with all those shallow flats/shoals and deeper water all over the place, I would find the areas where I could fish shallow and deep at one time. Add a point, a hump, a turn and some fallen timber into the mix and you have struck gold! Fresh cut bait might get you a few bonus stripers as well! But what do I know... You are the guide!

Go past the Hardy ramp skiff. Go all the way to Richmond and hit the James. lol I've found some decent cats in the BW. I'm sure the Noke is awesome. Just remember that the lake gets much busier thus the crazies. Be careful.

preciate all the advice heading out now to give it a try...im hoping to catch a few stripers too...I haven't went after cats in a lot of years...we went to a guided trip last year on the james and caught right few nice ones...biggest was 49 pounds...ill post when I return...thanks guys....lee
