I came up Thursday night to fish Friday. I had a work day on Sat. in our association so I wanted to fish rain or shine on Friday. Of course I had the rain. I hit the water with ales about 6:00am WT 63. Fish for four hours with only (1) fish just as I was getting ready to close up shop. My wife came up later in the day and that evening and as we were sitting on the dock drinking coffee, I kept seeing fish breaking. She had caught a number of stripes and LM on down lines and planers, but not "fake bait" as she put it. So I said let's go and I dropped the boat and headed out in the creek channel. I hung several on 1/4 jig head and fluke and let her pull them in. She said that was cheating because she did not do all the work. So I just watched as she kept throwin out. Finally, she got a taker and the pole bent over as she set the hook. It was comical as she kept saying she needed help and I would only give advise. After a good fight, she brought a nice fish using "fake bait" The smile on her face was priceless.
