Don't like leaving my gear on the boat while away and sometimes the space is needed on the pontoon for pleasure boating. It's a pretty good walk up to the house so carrying 8+ rods can suck. Thus my DYI project: some PVC, screws, Velcro, and battery cable for the handle. Attachments:

Haven't come up with one for 16 yet, but I have found after pretty good use that I could carry one of these in each hand with ease. FYI : Just have to be careful of eyes when loading/unloading into upper section. Haven't damaged any yet!

Just my 2 cents and you may have already thought this but would it work if you cut a half inch wide slot up each pvc on top and then just rap a bungy around all 6 that away its less chance of messing an eye up. I have thought about making one of these as well thanks for puttin pics up to give ideas

FYI : Just have to be careful of eyes when loading/unloading into upper section. Haven't damaged any yet! It might be more hassle than it's worth, but you could probably come up with a slotted option with an outer sleeve that rotates around to close the slot and secure the rods inside the holder.... or even easier, get something like a piece of neoprene or foam like from a mouse pad and cut a strip and secure it inside the pipe with a slit - you can push / pull the rod through it but it would give enough resistance to keep the rod from falling out on its own.

I tried the slit option originally, having to keep 6 poles in place while trying to wrap the Velcro, one or more still tried to fall out in the process. I like the neoprene idea, actually tried something similar with 1/4 foam wrap which didn't work either. But the neoprene would be a bit more rigid.

I made one a couple months ago and like it. I use velcro to secure the top of the rods
