FYI - apparently the guys from Lake Anna Bait company had electronics stolen from their boat last night at the State Park. Be on the look out for Humminbird Onix units for sale on the cheap.

I hate hearing things like this. I hope it doesn't leave a bad taste in their mouth about the lake... and it always makes me worry about all the crap I leave laying around on the dock.....

The State park makes you park your boat in that separate lot away from the cabins and everything else. Just made for lowlife thieves! That is exactly why I quit going there.

Dang...Im overly paranoid about my stuff, even if its cheap. Guess this gives me more of a reason to bring everything inside. PITA but beat shaving to rebuy. Do any of you guys have boat insurance? Likes/dislikes?

Piper - things like rods and tackle would not be covered by boat insurance - rather, those are typically covered under your home-owners personal property coverage. The Boat / motor would be covered by the boat insurance policy. Gets a little blurry to me on things like mounted electronics... if hard-mounted I think they would be considered part of the boat - but if on a removeable mount, questionable.
Like any insurance policy, the devil's in the details so its best to ask specific questions and get answers in writing.....

My Boat US insurance covers anything attached to boat like electronics, and I have a 5000.00 equipment coverage for rods reels etc all covered.

Had a couple of rods stolen out of my boat a few months back and according to my progressive coverage they were covered. Didn't file a claim though. Would much rather have the SOB that stole them file a police report against me. When I got done with them. Would be worth it to me. Sorry those folks had a bad experience at SML.

What a shame!
For what it's worth, I have $10k worth of coverage for tackle, electronics and personal items on my boat, through Progressive. I needed to document everything with them, which was no problem.
