We're working out the details for a fall/spring CPR tournament series on SML. Entry will be reasonable, around $50/boat. We'll have a Meeting time before the tournament for entry and handing out of measuring boards/token cards. The fishing time will be generally daylight to mid afternoon or perhaps dusk if we feel appropriate. You will text or email your fish pictures to us by check in time. Money and certificates to the winners. Door prizes as available. Dates to be determined, but we'll hold tournaments in Nov, Dec, Mar, and April. There will be a series overall standings with a trophy to the overall winner.
Who's in???

Would more than likely participate if I were available. Think it would be great if one was set up as Danny Foster memorial tx. Just a thought.

Why Nov-Dec and not Oct-Nov either way its hunting season but early Oct and Nov would not impact rifle season. Just a thought. A lot of us are hunting weekends in late Nov and all Dec.

November fits our model better for releasing fish without harming them. The first half of October could be iffy water temp wise. There is also a striper club $$ tournament in late October, so the November tx just makes more sense.

It's hard to accommodate everyone's schedule that's for sure.

Just out of curiosity for those interested in the tournaments, do you prefer a Saturday or Sunday tournament? We're leaning heavily towards Saturday at this point.

Sounds fun Bentrod ! You can count me in. I think the $ 50.00 per boat is a great idea. That way you can fish as teams. Saturdays sounds good. Hope you can get it all worked out and make it happen.

Here's what we're looking at right now - there may be minor changes - need to get permits and boards made/donated and we're good to go. Just follow this link - updates or changes will show here - www.smlstripermafia.com/tournament-series.htmlBy the way, send Mward a horizontal picture of you want to be on the Mafia picture page.

YAM since you won't fish them, can we count on you to be the official camera man?! I mean we need launch shots, action shots, underwater shots, interviews, etc. I will guarantee you the exclusive interview of Bigun if you'll come on as the official camera man for the series.

great idea on the tournament question tho...for people like me that doesn't live down at the lake and its a hit and miss on bait for people that doesn't live there that's got to haul boat and try to net bait...is there anyway others could catch enough bait for those that doesn't have bait?...I know that catching bait is part of fishing but would hate to spend 50 bucks and then not have bait to fish with..just a thought...im sure a lot others would enter if they knew they had bait to fish with...thanks lee

Sounds good to me. Meeting/Registration be the morning of the tournament or before? Curious how to accommodate the blackwater fishermen. Or will they all be run out of a roanoke side ramp?
