bucktails n bait, creek chubs to be exact. Biggens

Got 2 stripers, 26" each. Lost 8. Yes, I lost 8. 5 on bait and 3 on the bucktail. Bummer. Stripers loved the x-large creek chubs from my creek, way easier than catching and keeping shad. Fished them on freelines near the bank..

noticed lots of ales doin thier thing shortly after sun up.

That reminds me, I remember guys using big chubs on claytor and catching big stripers.
