Yam, More then likely you have one fish strike the bait and subdue it and another hitting it to eat. Being pack hunters stripers are constantly taking bait from one another. In topwater action you can hook one fish, be fighting it back to the boat and have 4-5 fish striking at the bait and following it. Your video may appear to show the same fish but it may very well be multiple fish as that is how they attack, subdue and eat. John, that is exactly what I am seeing. I actually wrote it up on one of my many posts. They travel in packs.. One fish comes in to stun.. And another comes out of nowhere to eat. Happens in less than a second. This is what happens when they are aggressive. But then... There's the lone wolf scenario. It seems bigger fish may hang out and do the entire job alone. Intriguing to say the least. I've often thought it works that way - and even sometimes with big fish. I've seen little fish roll a bait for two minutes like he can't eat it and then it gets crushed and it's an 18lber - what?!

Haha one yam post about fish below the bridge and everybody thinks they're heading south - if I told you how many citations we had BELOW the bridge already this year, you wouldn't believe me. This is why I don't look at reports to find my fish, I explore and find them myself - it's not that hard, just takes a willingness and an inquisitive mind - you'll surprise yourself by what you stumble upon. Rant over! Happy Friday! All I was trying to do was get across to bodywarrior, is that there are fish scattered everywhere... quit trying to clarify what I mean in my post yam... I mean Bentrod.

Blackwater is certainly a gem. It does not surprise me one bit that the bigger fish are being caught there. 30 pounder... What a catch.
Does anyone know who it was? Maybe it was Lund1 or Shadslinger? That would be cool!
I hear Gator catches some monsters but is smart enough to keep it quiet! Tricky Floridians... I tell ya!

I's Blackwater what you guys consider the upper roanoke? Blackwater is the other river that feeds the dam. It has all sorts of cool creeks just like the Roanoke but isn't quite as long. One of my favorite spots on the entire lake is the boat ride from the Blackwater towards the main lake. The mountain view is just gorgeous... Almost as breathtaking as the views down by the dam.

I've never even been to the dam, or to blackwater, I plan to do quite a bit of fuel burning this week. My goal is to do a lot of homework and catch some dang fish. I'm Jonesing like an addict. Also what public ramps do yall recommend to fish the lower parts of the lake?

Magnum costs 5 bucks and Penhook is free.
