First Time With Planer Boards - 4/11 & 4/12

Me and the wife fished Saturday and Sunday and was our first time useing planer boards. Spent most of the day on Saturday crappie fishing then that evening put the board's out and got use to trolling with um with no results.
Sunday morning i got up headed out and throwed bucktails for a couple hours with no results either. So I went back to the planer boards and live bait
Tried a couple creeks no results went to another creek before we decided to call it a day and put 2 in the boat with the biggest 27" which is the one in the picture my wife caught and her PB.
Also we had a big fish chase a 10" gizzard I had on one of my board's all over the top of the water. I'm talkin a 35" inch or better fish. Needless to say when he finally caught him and the rod went down I got alittle excited and come up on the rod before the circle hook had a chance to do its job. The story of my life the one that got away. This was my wife's birthday weekend so she was tickled to death with the one she caught and so was I.

The 1st one is always memorable..... nothing's better to me than when the fish put on a show blowing up & chasing bait pulled behind a board....

Awesome job, glad you got a few.

The fish are on the move and are moving fast, a lot of fish out in the main channel now.

Thanks bigun 2 they will prolly be back to the lower end in a couple of weeks then. I'm going to buggs next weekend so I won't get back on smith for about a month. The boat traffic is to bad for me out there by then
