Check mwards post for conditions on this trip. Lots of wind....
I fished artificials and ended up with 6 or 8 in the boat. The first spot had fish busting for over an hour all around the boat, close enough that I got wet a couple times! I tried flukes, monkeys, bucktails and roadrunners before I wised up and tied on a thunderstick. First cast I was on! For about 45 minutes I had action on nearly every cast, fish rolling, blowing it up or following it to the boat. They just weren't eating it.. Water was dingy at best, like turnover water.
I moved down the lake to some clear water where some big girls have been known to stack up in April. I switched to a yellow bucktail and caught a few more casting parallel to the bank and counting it down to 8' over 15' of water. Threw the thunderstick a few times and had fish roll on it there too.
Everything I caught or saw near the boat was 20-24". I wrapped up by 10:15.
