Been out doing alot of scouting and the woods are full of acorns. Pretty much need a helmet to be in there... ;D I was walking saturday back off deep in a creek bottom and starting seeing alot of places where the ground is tore all up and rotton logs rolled over and ripped apart. Branched off onto another main trail and started finding lots of bear crap. Went back in today to hang the trail camera to hopefully get some pictures of the bear and stumbled upon a skull of a 8ptr I killed year before last. It was one evening during the peak of the rut and it started pouring down rain. I decided to call it quits and as I come down out the stand this guy showed up at 30yrds. After I shot it ran up the ridge and I unloaded the .270 on it.... I looked for 2 days but never could find any blood but felt confident I had hit the deer with the 1st shot atleast. Found the skull up on top of the ridge probably not even 75 yards from where i shot it. Some bear poo This is what im looking for
