if you're in a lift, I'd keep an eye on the lake level, because it's already full pond and I noticed yesterday the river in Roanoke was high and flowing, AND it's raining like hell this morning! www.smithmountainlakelevel.com/

River at Salem was up a couple of feet and stained when I came across at 2:00 this afternoon, more rain on the way, might raise the lake up a little more, be sure and watch lifts, don't want any boats floating around. Might also watch if are out on the lake the next few days, could float things loose from upriver and the back of coves into the main channel.

When I cane across the river today about 2:00 PM the river was out of the banks at Apperson and 419 over into the greenway and muddy, should raise the lake level a bit and most likely bring some junk downstream, if you get out on the upper end over the weekend be careful.
