Can anyone recommend a good lure retriever? I was trolling yesterday with some Yo-Zuri crystal minnows and had one get caught in the trees. Heart breaking to say the least.
Thanks.

It's always a sad day when you lose some crystal meth. $10 a hit hurts. The meth is deadly on shallow early spring fish though!

I have a Capt Macks one I think - but it's more for u-rigs and don't know how well it would work on small lures

I use to fish bass tournaments for years using crankbaits. The best lure retriever I ever found was called the Hound Dog. They are carried by Tackle Warehouse and here is the link to their website www.tacklewarehouse.com/Jewel_Bait_Hound_Dog_Lure_Retriever/descpage-JBHDLR.html That link should take you to the hound dog. The easiest one that all of us bass fishermen carried in out pockets was called a Leroy. It consisted of a 1 or 2 ounce casting weight on a snap for sliding down our line. Just snap it on your line and pull your line straight so that the weight goes to your lure. Then you just jiggle your line up and down until it comes loose. It really works great. If that doesn't get it then use the Hound Dog on a small stout rope.

Thanks to all for the input. As it happens, I bought the hound dog at Franklin outdoors. Hope I never have to use it.
