There was a bass torunament today and I wish I would've entered. I've never done a tournament before but I had one of my best days on SML ever. Started out 0615 this morning fishing the point just across from Christmas Tree island. There are some underwater roads & buildings there. I was using a deep cranbait without much luck when a bunch of the tournament guys showed up so I moved over into the first cove in Bull Run. For giggles and grins, I threw a Lizard at patch of grass on a flat and hooked a 6 3/4lb LM ;D I decided to stick with that pattern; fishing grass on flats in about 4-8' of water and landed 6 more keepers all between 1 - 3 1/2lbs before 11:00. My best 5 was about 16lbs. I wonder how that would've done... One of these days I'm going to have to enter a tournament.
I also went out this evening between the rain and caught 3 more LM between 1 1/2 & 2 1/2lbs but it took me awhile to find a pattern that worked. Ended up throwing a deep crank bait parallel to points and secondary points with rock or rip rap in about 10' bumping it off the bottom. I also lost 2 good ones right at the boat but man today was flat fun!!! Makes up for the days I can't make anything happen...

Thanks for the report. That is what you call a good day on the water!

Thanks. Unfortunately today was one of those days where nothing happened... Still a day on the water always beats work
