Water temp - 47-48 Cold rain in morning. Went out of Hardy just after daybreak with a cousin I grew up, hunted and fished all the time during my early years before moving to Salem area. Bait was easy. Not peanuts, but not YAMilicious big or MWard mongo size. Rode down river and first stop marked fish and whacked them. Lost them after about an hour or so and fished two other spots. Not as many fish in second spot, but ones we got were better size. Moved to third spot after lunch and talked to MWard and of course he caught a nice one while we were talking. Shortly after we got a couple more and called it a day. It was good to visit and fish with a relative and best friend. Cousin landed this one while fishing in a creek. Going to hit it again tomorrow.

Good to see you to - thanks for the good luck there when that fish nailed my last big bait so I could call it a day and go warm up. Might see you out there tomorrow if I can drag myself out of bed

Caught most of them on down lines. We did get a couple on planners. Fish we caught seemed to be at around 35-40 feet no matter the depth of water. Bait size was 6-8 inches.

Thank you for the report. I wonder if a down line mongo would have worked?

I wouldn't know Yam. The only mongos I have seen were the pics you and MWurd post. But I will learn to find and catch them.
