I had plans to take my 2 nephews ( 7yrs & 10 yrs ) & brother in law striper fishing on Friday while they were in town for Thanksgiving .They live out of state and I don't see them very often and they have never been striper fishing or even caught fish that big . Our plans fell thru for Friday due to uncontrolled circumstances. My nephews and son were really bummed . They were headed back home early afternoon Saturday so we decided to make a quick trip for them before they left. We put in at Moorman's at about 9:30 and went in search of bait. Ran up river ( kids freezing! ) made one throw and had all the 4-6 in gizzards we needed. Ran back down to where we launched and started setting out baits around 10:30. Put out 4 down rods and started to set out planers and a down rod got drilled . Fish in the boat , pic taken with big smile and then released. Got the six planer rods out and 2 cork lines out back along with the 4 down rods up front. It was on from there ! They had a blast! My son was upset at first because he had to wait until 3rd fish before it was his turn ( since his cousins had never caught any ) but it came quick. We called it at 12:30 leaving them biting so they could get back to the house and load up to head home. It was mission accomplished with 6 fish boated, 3 lost due to unlucky reeling, and one pig in the trees along with some big smiles. They already can' t wait to come back fishing with their uncle.
