Who's going to the Bay this year? I'm heading up to fish the Elizabeth River the first week of December for trout. If the stripers are in, we will head over to Cape Charles and try some eels. Planning on leaving the day after Christmas again to fish for 2-4 days. Outside of that, waiting to hear when the big fish arrive and might go the 2nd or 3rd weekend too. My cell is 336-420-9401. If you go and I'm up there, you are more than welcome to give me a shout. If I'm on fish, I will gladly share the info. We usually have 2-3 boats in our group so we can cover more water.

Trying to figure out plans now - 1st weekend and maybe an outside chance at the 2nd weekend (though almost certainly just one of the two...). Sure hope the wind cooperate this year.
Saw a 40+ caught this week weighed in at Chris' in Cape Charles.... not sure if it was a Bay-resident fish or not....

Heading up to Cape Charles on Friday after Thanksgiving for a few days, looks like the big fish started last weekend from the photos on Chris Bait and Tackle. Now if the wind stays down maybe we can drown some eels and score some big fish.

Its been a rough year this year. The majority of the big fish are staying well outside of the 3 mile limit and not coming into either bay. I'm not pointing fingers, but for the past two years certain commercial boats from up north have been coming into the bays and totally ignoring the fishing laws. The bait fish (bunker) and the stripers have been devastated so there is no real reason for the spawning fish to come into the bays. I've been out five times in Nov and have only landed one keeper from the Delaware bay and noting but schoolies from the Chesapeake. There are very few fish being caught in either bay, but the ones that are caught are huge!
As much as I hate to say it, a lot of the pictures you see on-line are from catches outside of the three mile limit. The fin and feathers guys have been having a field day nailing people who keep a few fish from outside of the limit. I ventured out there three times and made dang sure that I released the few stripers that I managed to catch. Even after that, I was boarded every time.

We are heading up Dec 26th and fishing the 27,28, and 29th. Might go early on the 26th if the wind lays down and fish that afternoon. We will launch out of Cape Charles. Right now we have 3 boats going. If anybody else is headed up, let me know and we can share info on the fishing. We will be taking our trout stuff too, just in case we get blown out one day. We will head to the Elizabeth River and trout fish if that happens. Hope to see some of you guys on the Bay.
