Rough evening. (Fly)Fished the roanoke side down river from mormans marina. Worked shoreline structure along the main channel and in a few inlets. One nice fish on topwater that was working a bait school. Not another single bite. Seems like the more bait schools the fewer fish that hit us. Any tips? Feels like the fish are in transition and not in their usual haunts. Should we be chasing the bait schools out in the middle for schoolies? Are the fish moving deeper? Need a little help here, all my usual tricks are coming up short!

What was the water temp.? I have not been to the lake in about a month, been to the Chickahominy River and then to Moomaw last weekend. Will be there next weekend, hope it picks up some by then. Should get better as the water cools down in the next few weeks.
