Come join us on Friday evening at our April Club meeting for a presentation on "Think Like a Striper", presented by member Marshall Harris. You are sure to come away having learned a thing or two about striped bass and how to apply that to being a better angler. Friday, April 3rd, 7pm @ the Moneta Community Center on Rucker Rd.

Smith Mountain Striper Club 2015 Fun in the Sun Member/Guest TournamentWho: SMSC Members and their guest(s) What: Striper Tournament & Cook-out, 2 fish limit total weight, 20 inch minimum size. Why: Promote some friendly competition within the Club and collect fish for a Club Fish-Fry to follow. When: June 13, 2015 5:30 am "lines-in" Weigh in: 1 - 2 pm at the 4H Pavillion Where: Smith Mountain and Leesville Lake Entry fee: Adult Members / Guest $10 ; Youth (15 and under) free. Registration Deadline: Must receive registration no later than the June 5th meeting. Awards: 1st - 3rd place Adults & Youth will receive plaque/certificate. Door Prizes: Each entrant will receive 1 ticket, then receive an additional ticket for each fish weighed in. One prize per entrant. Separate prizes for youth entrants. Mike, I couldn't agree more with your comments on reasons to join the club. I may only get to the lake 6 times or so a year, but Lisa and I want to retire there "someday". The lake is a great resource and I hope it stays that way.

SMSC May Meeting - Friday, May 1st - 7pm - Moneta Community CenterWe'll be spending a bit of time outside with cast-net throwing & fish-fileting demonstrations - learn a few new tips on catching bait and cleaning your catch. We'll also have Pat Massa come provide a brief talk on boating safety. As always we will be talking fishing, sharing recent reports & notable catches and reviewing all the various activities which we'll be involved in the coming month or two....
