Went out last weekend and fished from 6pm -12am. Managed 6 LM bass. All on a worm and the largest was around 3.5 lbs. fished main lake points and brush. I can't say I know a great deal about SML and a buddy of mine gave me a place to look for but I couldn't find it. He said there is standing timber in Wlaton creek just up from the Va dare. I looked but wasn't able to find it. My electronics aren't great so I thought I'd ask if anyone is willing to help me out with where its at. I'd love to go fish them if he's not mistaken what's there. I'm betting the bass hang around the tops of the trees. Any advice? I hope I'm not asking something I shouldn't on here and if so I apologize. I'm just wanting to learn more about the fishery. Thanks in advance and good luck out there.

I don't know about the standing timber...but if you caught 6 fish with a 3.5 lb'er, that's good right now

There is absolutely no standing timber in SML - anywhere - no where at all up to 20' just about anywhere outside the old river/creek channels - no timber at all
