It seems if you spend much time at all on the lake your boat will develop a mud line. Is there anything that can be done to reduce or remove the mud line? I know only dirty boats catch fish but I would like to clean it up once in a while.

A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser does a pretty good job of removing the scum line. Be careful though, it is mildly abrasive.
On/off also works, but it is a very harsh acid. It is Muriatic acid and will destroy(rust) a steel or galvanized trailer. It works wonders on boat hulls though!

I use Star brite every time I take it out of the water and it shines. Just pour it on a towel and wipe her down. Takes 3 minutes.

Some people clean their boats and some people catch fish. Buyer beware: you will be followed around with a mudline. Ha I think mine is permanent by now. I'm fortunate to have a boat that's not too nice! It's a workhorse and a little mud seems to fit right in with it. If I had Mwards boat, I'd keep it cleaned up..his boat cost more than my house!

SML who knows. I am sure if there was some validity to that someone would be selling "dirty" hulls. AND we would buy it.

Todd complimented me the other day on my mudline! Considering I've only owned it two months. My old aluminum Starcraft hid it very well. Not so much with the skiff.

I agree with Johnr - Mr Clean Magic is great. Also, Soft-Scrub is awesome and cheap, buy the bottle with bleach added (about $2.00). It takes ALL the stains right off, including mud, grease, oil, etc... BUT, my boat is not fiberglass. I have a Triumph boat which is Ropolene. So, I would suggest trying just a small spot first, or checking the website for the boat builder. They usually tell you the best thing to clean it with. Remember to not wash it in the lake and rinse the boat off good before putting it back in the water. Helps keep the lake water clean.

I have never tried Stain Solver on mud-line but it does a great job on tile floors and bathrooms. My boat needs a good cleaning so I will try it before doing a wax job. Stain Solver

The water stains and outside were also horrible. This is the outside of the boat after two washing with soft scrub. After I completely rewired it, the third wash removed all the remaining water stains along the bottom.
