I am in the process of building a livewell for bait "storage". The livewell on my boat will keep bait alive while fishing but I dont want to run it overnight and drain my battery. Plus its fairly small and not filtered so I cant keep bait in it for extended periods. I am using an Attwood Recirc Aerator Pump and want to put some sort of filter in-line between the pump and aerator head. I was thinking about using a 2" cleanout tee with polyfill as I have read about on here. But I am having trouble finding something to make the connection from the 3/4" i.d. hose to the tee on either side.
Any advice and/or alternate suggestions?

A thru-hull fitting (or any fitting that your hose will fit) and 5200.

I am finding 4200 to be better than 5200. 42 still creates a great water tight seal but allows you to remove the components at a later date without the need for dynamite.

sounds like if you put that filter between your pump and your aerator head you're going to lose some major pressure at the aerator. If you're concerned about battery life overnight and yet you have ac power get yourself a 12 volt power supply. I bought one at radio shack and have been using it for years, usually plug it in for lunch mostly. The best filter is one similar to a super bait tankII, where the water if brought from the bottom of the tank to the top and then slowly runs down through your filtration system. I'm not sure that pushing water through the filter would work as well as a slow drain type. That said, in a bass boat that might entail building a separate filter box. Post some pictures and the guys on here could help you figure something out. Oh yeah Yam if correct if you ever plan on removing or replacing the seal don't use 5200.

Great advice John. In my pursuit to mimic the SBTII with my livewell, I found it more economically and technically feasible to just buy an SBTII. However, if you recirculate your water above the water line then you can easily create a filter similiar in design to the greyline tank.
Mwurd mentioned this to me in a quick post and I wasn't sure what he meant. 2 weeks later after much thought and paper design, I fell into this solution on my own. 2 weeks after that, I finally listened to Bentrod and just purchased an SBTII.
