Hello, I am sort of new to fishing and do not own a boat yet, but live right next to the lake. I have been fishing in a somewhat large cove, and off of floating and covered docks in my Subdivision. I have yet to catch a Largemouth this year, under the docks or around the cove (There are many trees and brush in the cove.) Is it just not worth it to fish from land at this time of year, (March 3/31/2014) or is there something that I am doing wrong?
If someone could give me some pointers, that would be great! Thanks!

It depends on what you are using for bait. If you are using live bait, use a float/bobber. Keep it just above the trees if you can. For spinner baits, run it above the trees and brush. Remember, fish will come up to take a bait before it will go down for it. The main thing you want to remember is be weedless as possible. A plastic worm is a great lure for how you are fishing. Keep the barb embedded in the worm to keep it from hanging in the trees. Good luck and enjoy.

Right now water temperature has a lot to do with where the fish are, as the temperatures go up they will come back into coves and closer to the land and docks, colder the water the slower you move a bait. Good luck and keep trying, you did not say where the area you are fishing was, but fish will move around as temperature and bait does.
