Fuel gauge on my Hurricane deck boat stopped working a while back - reads Full all the time. This past weekend I pulled the sending unit out of the tank and replaced it with a new one. Still reads Full. It is transmitting a signal, when you lift or lower the float arm the needle moves up or down just slightly, but settles on Full. I am prepared to pull the gauge out of the dash and replace it next.
Anyone have any other suggestions? It's a simple system, not sure what else it could be, but its sometimes easy to overlook things

Have you checked to make sure you have good grounds - connnections at then sender and gauge are good and clean?

No problem on sending unit end, all clean, and solid connections. I've not gotten into it behind the dashboard yet

Might be a good idea to check the wire running from the sender to the gauge, make sure it is not grounded somewhere. If memory is correct the gauge goes to full when grounded.

Yes you are right. I should check the wire run before I start pulling gauges out from under console. You got me thinking.....it wasn't too long ago I ran new wiring for sonar, maybe I pinched the wire somewhere or something and grounded it

Just to close the loop - it did turn out to be a bad fuel gauge.
