Jack and myself went down to Hatteras to take advantage of the last weekend of kids only extended duck season. We hunted with my brother that guides down there(Ken Dempsey Guide Service). We were the only boat to leave the dock Saturday. We hunted one of his stake blinds behind Ocracoke Island. Weather was low of around 40 and hi around 42. Light rain and 15 mph wind. Being kids season, Jack was the only one that could shoot, so I filmed with the GoPro and my brother cooked on the grill and coached Jack. Jack shot 48 times! He had a 20 ga shotgun which is a little under powered for down there. He shot several on the water that got up and flew off. We hunted for 6 hours and had one of the best times I've ever had with Jack. Most the ducks were buffle heads.... We saw hundreds of redheads, bluebills, pintails, sea ducks. We stayed with one of my other brothers. He has built some nice boats. Here's his 44 footer behind his house..... He built a 26 footer with a tower that is sweet. He has it on a trailer and winterized right now.... Here's another pic of it..... Jack is pumped to go back next fall for some more ducks. I'm ready too, all that shooting got me wanting to pull the trigger too!
