I have recently purchased a bay boat and will be selling my bass boat. I have only had the boat one year. I bought it as a project boat. It has been fun but after finding striper fishing, I decided that a bay boat was more appropriate for my type of fishing and would be safer to use when I am by myself and the water is dangerously cold.
The boat is a 1994 Stratos Pro 20XL. This 21 ft. dual console boat is in great operating condition as we have replaced anything and everything that was not working or was even in question. The boat has an Evinrude 200HP 2-stroke engine. The engine was completely rebuilt and only has about 15 hours of use since the rebuild. If you like to go fast, it will run in the mid 60s. That's not my style but I have had it in that range once. I replaced the carpet last summer along with rewiring some lights and replacing the fuel sending units. There are several new switches in the console and new ignition switch. There is a brand new alarm and sending unit in the 2 cycle oil reservoir. The upholstery is in great shape and I have added two new seats. The only thing I am aware of that continues to be wrong with the boat is one compartment light ($12) and a live well pump ($24). It has an older model 24V Johnson trolling motor that I intended to replace until someone said that the old Johnsons were great. They were right. It moves the boat around well, even in windy conditions. The gelcoat coat above the rub rail does show some fading. I have been told that someone who knows what they are doing can make the faded area look considerably better. We have waxed the boat a few times to keep the finish from fading further. The trailer fits the boat and is a dual axle. We keep the boat in a slip at the lake but the trailer travels very well. It has four new tires.
I have a Lowrance HDS-8 with structure scan in the boat. I intend to move the electronics to the bay boat unless the buyer wants to purchase the boat with the electronics prior to that time. It doesn't matter to me either way.
I will never recover the amount of money I have put into the boat. I have invested almost $11,000 into the boat without the electronics. I am asking $8000 for the boat without the electronics and $10,000 with the electronics. I am not much of a price haggler. If the boat is something you are looking for, you will not be disappointed in its performance. I am willing to provide receipts to validate the repairs I have made. You may also speak to the mechanics at Holdfast Marine in Lynchburg. Holdfast has done all of the work. I am offering the boat here on the forum prior to listing on Craigslist. If you are interested, you can PM me or call me at 434-258-8600.
