Got an '86 Starcraft that I fully restored, with an '84 Evinrude 75 on her. Everything I need. Tows easily, handles rough water really well for aluminum, and is super easy on gas. A day of hard runningand gas scouting will usually use up 6 gallons of fuel or so. 1/2" steel rod holders work well for the stripes and BIG catfish. What can I say, I love her. (This was pre-gas and trolling motor upgrade.)

Heck yea they are. They aren't too difficult to restore either. Just takes patience, and didnt hurt that my dad is a contractor and has every tool known to man. I have a 19'CC Starcraft that needs a motor and the floors redone. It is aluminum also. I was thinking about turning it into a bay boat also, but I dont think it is really big enough for that.....

Had the same boat when I fished the lakes and Delaware in Jersey.I had also refurbished it which took about a month or so to do it but worth the effort. To make a long story short after about a year down here I found that during the summer months you will get rocked by the bass boats and wakeboard boats. It's great on gas but I found as I got into my 60's comfort was more important.. Best of luck the boat looks great

Yea once I get closer to the water I am going to get a 22' CC. But for now I'm 29 and work for a chiropractor, so I think I can handle the aluminum ride

As long as you pick your days you could use it in the Chesapeake Bay, I took my son-in-laws 17 skiff out to the bay bridge tunnel a few years. They can take some waves and the good thing is you stay dry in them.

Yea it's that whole pick your days thing that I hate. If i get a chance to hit the water I wanna go! I've seen days on the Chesapeake where you wouldn't even want to be out on a 24'er!!
