Greetings..just got my package of trolling gear today..4 Magda 20's and some rods..never touched a Magda before..So I must ask. Can I switch this godforsaken line clicker off? ;-|My guess is that its tied into the line counter but figured I'd ask

Should be a switch on the side.....silver button on left of reel (opposite of handle) - slides up/down

I purchased 2 Magna pros 6 months ago from Franklin Outdoors. Both had clicker on/off controls. Funny thing however....on one reel turning off the clicker and the reel was silent reeling in. Turning off reel 2 clicker and the reel still had a kind of "quiet" clicking when reeling in. Hard to describe, but that's what I experienced.

I bought 4...2 thus far have a low level click which I assume is the line counter. Is your line counter working properly? I havnt spooled/tested the others but plan to tonight.

Make sure you push the line counter button all the way in and that it comes all the way back out - sometimes it will get "stuck" and not count a you reel and it will make a little click like that....

The line counter on the one reel that makes a quiet click seems to be working fine. I will try Mwards advice, but really it's a very mild aggravation if any. Maybe I'll even shoot a little wd40 on the line counter button.

I am very happy with my Magda 20's. They arent used for cast/retrieve so you dont put a ton of wear on them. The ABU 6500's are a little overkill for downlines/planers if you ask me. Any 6500's that I have LOVE to be casted and retrieved, so that's what I do with them . Clickers are great too. Just enough back drag that you can leave the bail open, keep the clicker on, and troll and it wont pull out the drag. Then when theres a fish on, you just turn the reel once, set the hook, and turn off the clicker. No messing with the drag before you set the hook! Can't beat em for 30-40 each off ebay!!
