Greetings guys,
This is my 1st year going full out during the winter and was curious about water temperatures. I continue to throw for bait and find the water to be acceptable. I was curious if this 44-46 degress mark is as cold as the water will get or if I can expect it to drop further. I realize some of it is contingent on weather and air temps but more interested in a typical winter year. Its been a blast thus far I must say!

It all depends on the winter weather. Typically, it will get to at least 44-45 every year..most years it's colder than that dipping into the upper 30s. It'll dip into the 30s this year probably.

Past years it has frozen down towards the tennis courts on the main channel, just depends on how cold and how long the cold lasts, looks like this cold spell is just a couple of days, warming back up by the weekend.

I've seen it frozen all the way to below the bridge on the Roanoke about 5yrs ago.

Geez look at that ice...great pics..id have to stay home for that..My family is from Wisconsin.l and they do a lot of ice fishing. Its ~17 up there with the lake 3" thick...they drill holes and drop cameras to look for fish...and i thought my downscan was cheating
