Fished the lower lake today. Bait was alittle tough but after several throws had plenty to fish with. Nice alewives medium to jumbo. Went into Bull Run and never really found any good schools of fish. a few scattered fish and 2 smaller schools that we caught a few fish from. Most people were just searching and riding. Rode up to Gills and pretty much found the same thing up there. The lake is nuts down that way. Way to many boats and way to rough for my liking. I doubt ill be that far down lake again till next spring.
On a side note, circles hooks are supposed to be safer because of the tip of the hook pointed inward. I had jumped in the water to cool off and was getting back in the boat. While walking by the bait tank with the rods in the rod holders on the tank a huge wave threw my balance into the tank embedding a 4/0 circle into my knee cap, when the back side of the wave threw my balance the other direction of course it ripped it back out.... ;D Be careful out there.

I had a similar experience two weeks ago one in the same area you fished. A few scattered fish and a ton of boats and jet skis.
I don't know which I hate the most wake board boats or jet skis. They both are a pain when you are trying to fish.

Be Nice if they put a limit of 10 wake boats plus 10 PWC'c per day, must use 357 mag. or larger to bag them.
