An extra hour to sleep, or fish.
I got heaps of small small ales under the dock light last night -- all quantity, no quality. Rowed out towards the yacht club sign starting just after first light. I had 5 lines out, 2 with an ounce and 3 with a half or quarter. Went an hour with no fish, then caught a channel cat, maybe 24" and before I could dehook it a ~12" lmb took a different rod, and before I could dehook either of those a ~5 lb striper took a different rod. Then it went quiet again.
After another hour or so I got another striper, prob 23". On the way in something grabbed a bait, which were mostly dead by then, and went straight around a tree or something deep and broke the leader. Love the fall weather. This is the first time I have been out in a while. I thought it was odd to get 3 species at once like that. Maybe a school of bait went by and all manner of fish were following it. Who knows?

You never know what will take a bait. Makes it interesting. Nice report.

Good to see you back out there and glad you got a few - we slept in - and apparently missed the bite - but we sure enough found the wind......
