I am from Roanoke live in crewe now work for the Norfolk & western. RR for 43 years now retired looking to fish smith mt lake,I know they are lots of stripers here just wanted to know about the big blues are they in here like in Kerr?thanks for you help.

The simple response is NO. Few in SML but they're rarer than a Muskie I'd say.

I've never seen a blue k5! I think you can drop down the hill and get a few "very" few from Leesville! Sml is good for flatheads. Not quite the size of buggz but pretty good numbers! Just a little bit different targeting them in sml! But it's time for us to try these stripers out! Let me know when!

Thanks for the reply men,Gotcha we will hit the stripers sometime in nov or dec,mean while I guess I go back to Gaston and get some more of them big girls my wife has gotten in to them big cats,she love it she can't stand the cool weather.thanks for you help on my deep finders working good wish you was closer to my house,my eyes ant to good have to get some one to drive for me.i use to drive 70 now it 50 guess I getting old.Lol.Kfive

I was wondering about the leak too....good to see ya post Kenny.....I enjoy the pics on Facebook too.....if I can't go at least I can see pictures of real fish from waters I know

Catnstripers you need to try Kerr and Gaston they are some monster there more blues than anything else.k5

Use to fish buggs alot. Use to catch alot too. Mostly winter time, but summer nights too. Numbers yes, big fish no. Even though they're are monsters in buggs. Biggest we've landed is 30. For me the jamesis more consitant on 40-60lb fish. Once i figured out hopewell is only 30mins longer of a drive thats were i like to go.
Way to much jug fishing on buggs than i care to see.
