I fished Santee Cooper, mostly the lower lake (Moultrie) in the early 70s and it was the best fishing ever. We would get into 20 and 30 lb fish schooling on top hitting striper swiper plugs. Awesome. My first run in with them I had two zebco spincast reels loaded with 10 lb test line. Needless to say after the first two hookups I had no line and just watched them school around the boat for the next hour. LOL
