I mostly fish at the coast out of Southport Marina but I grew up fishing on Kerr and SML for stripers. I recently decided to store my boat at my house and plan on returning to SML soon with my sons. I primarily know the blackwater. I have been up the Roanoke cruising with family but do not know the locations to fish and catch bait. See you out there!

Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the forum. I am by far an expert concerning striper fishing. I joined the site in mid July and started striper fishing there after. Many of the forum members steered me to previous posts on the site for information and that has paid dividends. I have found that the more information you share the more you will get in return. Just be vague in the area you are fishing. I have not fished the Roanoke side until last weekend and had zero luck. Stick to your instincts and go where you think fish are. Catch'em up and enjoy the time with your sons. Best of LUCK

Welcome to the site, glad to have you here, read the older posts, hire one of the local guides and you will be on your way. Join in and post even if you go out and don't catch anything.
