Made it down to the lake after church on Sunday with Matt and Devan. Got on the water about 2pm started fishing around 4pm. Pulled free line planers till dark on the upper roanoke side. Bait was tough!! After throwing for over an hour I only managed 2 money makers and 15 or so bigger peanuts Put the 2 big shad on my outside 2 boards bank side and within 5 min the biggest bait got smashed. Pulled the rod and set the hook. Handed it to Devan and tried to help him but we could never turn the fish. After pulling over 100 ft of line it ran and got in the trees and broke us off. It was by far the strongest fish I have ever had a chance with. After that no more luck. Nervous bait a time or two but no fish. It was still fun being on the water with 2 of my boys Skunk still on the boat!

At least you were out there enjoying the afternoon. I went down and worked on the boat for a while and got some things finished. Thought I would go down to Betty's creek and see what I could find, bunch of small bait in the back and caught 4 or 5 small walleye in the cast net. Anyone else finding Walleyes in the cast net?

No walleyes but I have been catching several tiny stripers. Catching fish or not it's always good to be on the water.
