Saturday was not the stellar day I was hoping for. Planned on being on the water at daylight but, had some issues with the boat before we left the house. I took the cover off of my outboard only to discover about a million stink bugs made MY outboard their home. Took a good hour to get most of them out. Finally, got on the water around 8:30 and AT was around 63 and WT was at 73.1* and noticed a lot of algae in the water. Dropped u-rigs in and crossed my fingers. Fished until after 10 and my son finally put one in the boat. We found a giant school of fish in 10-30fow and could not get them to bite anything. Around lunch I met up with another forum member and chatted it up for a while. Nice guy. Anyways, we made are way to Jakes for a bite to eat. After lunch headed up towards Hardy trolling urigs. NOTHING. By the way it was hot hot hot at that point and we decided to get out of the sun and head home.
Sunday got off to a much better start. Was in the water at daylight. AT 60*, WT 74.5*. Same M.O. as Saturday with better results. Found fish right away and brought 4 to the boat pretty quick. Fish were 22"-31". Thought I was in for a good day. WRONG. As quick as they started to bite they were gone. Fished pretty hard until 1 or so and nothing. Decided that I needed to actually do some work and hit the road. Always next time.
Side note: all fish were released both days.
