Well bait was a pain in the butt this morning. Finally managed some descent money makers and picked out 30 descent peanuts out of 500 or so. I mixed it up today starting off pulling boards and floats on the flats not to long after daylight. Had several swirls and chases and managed to catch 2 before that died off. Tried several more points and flats with no luck so I moved out to the deeper water and put out a spread of down lines and light lines. Found alot of fish in scattered smaller schools this way. They would come up and look or hit the bait and not hook up. Had alot of that. Did catch one on a downline. Next I anchored up and cutbait the flats that i had fished this morning. I caught 3 fish off the same rod in the same spot in less than 15 minutes, then everything went silent. Next spot I got a solid hit on a hard fighting fish. Played the whole merry go round the boat deal crossing other lines and anchor rope and managed to not get hung up. Finally got it to the boat and it looked to be somewhere around 18 to maybe 20lbs and the dang hook pulled out trying to net it. Decided it was best to call it a day after. Got home to unhook the boat and saw smoke rolling from one of the fenders, hub bearing gone on that one. Those other fish were all around 6 lbs. Buncha dinky fish. I aint fished all summer and after today I doubt I will fish much this fall. Kinda done lost interest and fed up with it. Maybe next year.

Sorry about that big one - you must just be out of practice . Kidding - I know it will soon be a tough call on which part of the outdoors to spend your time.
