Dad and I tried our luck on Wednesday. I got down to the lake around 3am to try to catch bait. Managed to get about a half dozen decent shad before daylight along with a 12 pound cat and a carp. Turned out it didn't matter about the bait anyhow. Picked dad up at the dock at daylight. we pulled shad on free lined planers from tennis courts down to stony creek without even a sniff. Gave up about 5pm and headed back home. On Thursday after watching a video on here I found out the problem! Dad had brought bananas on the boat . After looking at mwards post looks like I should have waited for Thursday and fallowed him around.

NO BANANAS NO BANANAS, most charter boats won't let you bring them on board, gets interesting when they talk about it.

I didn't know that until after the trip. We have raced for years and it the same way with racing and peanuts.

Never heard that about peanuts, but that must have been the problem Friday, my wife brought a bag of peanuts in the shell on the boat, jinxed it for the next day also. Sounds like a good reason to me for not catching anything.
