Hope everyone had better luck than I did Saturday. Got out on the water at daylight and AT was 52* and WT 76.1*. Went to a spot that was producing some fish for me and dropped a u-rig in(25fow) and caught a 22" fish in less than 2 minutes of fishing. I thought wow going to be a good day. Could not have been more wrong. Fished from Bull Run all the way to Standiford and could not buy a bite. Did have a seaplane land next to me at Standiford. Deciced to go "looking" for the fish and marked a few fish down deep 60-80fow (around 11 a.m.)and thought I would try to coax them up to around 30fow. Hooked a darn nice fish only to lose at the boat. It was a 34"-36". Straightened my hook right at the boat. I was sick. Finally hooked up only to lose another fish 28"-29" at the boat. Instead of throwing my rod in the water I decided to give it one more shot. Paid off with a 27" fish around 1:45 and called it quits at 2:30.
Side note: Caught a couple of LM and a SM on the u-rigs. Was fun but not what I was looking for.

Nice, saw a center console with the twin Suzuki's up there, we went up as far as the cliffs on patrol, thought I remembered it as someone on here.

Sorry about the lost fish Gator - although, maybe I'm not "too" sorry And of course Gator is being modest and left out that he took 1st in the Artificial class of the Striper Club tourney - so not a bad day - though I know you'd have rather had that one fish too

Not bad for a newb on the tourny he beat out a couple of others who have been fishing artificial for stripers for years. Congrats on the win.
