after a month or so of predictable fish....they're gone....scouted BW from 3 islands up to Staniford.....marked 3 -4 fish the whole way...backs of creeks, main channel, major points, .....nothing....caught one random 10 lb fish on a flat line last night. Water temps have risen to to 83....big jump from last weekend.
has anyone fished up river?,,,Magnum and above? I can't believe theyre following fall patterns yet but where the heck are they?

Look down - not sure about BW side but they've been schooling up in the big water - makes them tougher to find.

Night of 9/1 and 9/2 morning, we caught lots of fish in the S-turns, again. Had several break my line! SUPER FUN! This was my best striper fishing weekend, yet! All in a ski boat! LOL
Fish were surfacing around 7:30 - lots of bait fish right on the surface - it was kinda crazy!

I searched today from poplar creek allway down to gills creek on the BW. Never found a school. marked a few random scattered fish and picked up 2 dinks and a channel cat. I did see maybe 5 fish chasing shad on the surface right at daybreak but I couldn't get em to bite. Bait was rough this morning but I managed to get a few descent ones to fish with. I think I'm gonna try and put some more flatheads in the boat before the fall fishing fires up .....I Hope!

I was up bw as well Sat. and Monday. I saw a few breaking fish but no takers. I moved down to bull run and fish that area. At one time we looked like we were the Spanish Armada. I saw a few small fish taken. I found them at the mouth of bw and Roanoke sunday night while I was out with the wife, but Monday morning they were gone.
