Hey All, I am a resident of the lake and a converted bass angler to ADDICTED Striper angler now. I have been fishing the lake since 1999 before moving here full time in Feb 2010. I have been able to catch bait at my dock light every year except between Mid-June to Mid-Sept. right now i have lots of one inch bait at my light but nothing big like the other months. Where do the bigger bait go in the Summer? It's like drug, i need my bait. Anyone who can help me understand where the bait go would be appreciated.

Welcome Grippinlips - how deep is your dock/light? One of my buddies has a fairly shallow light (6-8') on the lower end of the lake and he's only getting very small bait, if any, right now as the water temps rise - the bigger bait seems to move deeper to stay closer/in the cooler temps.... Several posts over in the Striper section about catching bait that may help.

Mwardncsu, thanks for the reply. i am near cedar key and my light is in 20 feet of water at the end of my dock. I have lots of white perch at my light but no big Alewive now. I may try heading up Craddock and check in Hatcher or Bass cove. Would love to find some gizzards.
Thanks again,
Brian
