Hey man, we've all had days like that. Most guys just don't report them. I've caught mucho fish in a 100 yd area one day, just about every pass I made. Go back the next day and couldn't mark a fish. If you find somebody on here that knows the answers they wouldn't be on here, they would be off writing a book on stripers that would make them a mint!

Which skiff were you 2013? Saw about three or four..white t-top, white no t-top, white n blue, white n black. I fished the same areas and we struggled too. I just thought it was my buddy Bo who brings the bad luck with him. We Packed it in at 10 and went looking for food. We've been loading up easy all summer, but they didnt show up today like they have been. Bait was dying fast too like theres no oxygen at 20-30ft. Thermocline was at 16-18ft. The Roanoke side has been strange this year. I'm going again in the morning. Maybe have something better to report then. You wanna talk about bad luck. I already had to cut my dock line off my prop earlier in the morning after it wrapped and knotted itself up in my prop. That was after we forgot the Lowrances and had to go back. Then while I'm trying to tie my boat up to the floater in the 8ft waves at my dock (hate summertime), one of the rods in a rod holder hits the sea doo and the holder breaks in half and both fall into the lake in 8-10ft of water. Well crap..$130 in the lake.. It's not good when you gotta go fishing for your own equipment but I got it all back..rod holder is good as new!

Saturday did seem tougher - we were jigging to I expected #s to be down, but even the guys fishing bait were not getting the # of bites that you'd expect and the schools were hard to find. Fortunately we did come across one and were able to get on and off it as it started to break up.... but it was a tougher than usual morning.
