With so many dangers and shallow sandbars etc in the OBX sounds why done they use jet motors instead of props??? Pros and Cons of jets in saltwater?? I know you need them in rivers....why not sounds and saltwater?

Sand is a lot softer than rock. I believe the jet foot reduces the HP pretty significantly. Also things like steering, cavitation, etc aren't as good with a jet. Plus, there's no telling what you might suck up and have to go skinny dipping like Leo. Really no reason for a jet. Get a jack plate.

I've seen them running around on the sea side of the eastern shore. There are lots of creeks and unmarked channels over there, great fishing also.
